Girl Power

They said we could be,
anything we wanna be.
Fly far away to infinity,
reach out and touch the galaxies.

But then they tied us up,
then they sized us down
and then they boxed us in.
They won’t let us live.

They woke us up from our sleep
and crushed all our dreams.
Told us our life wasn’t ours to live.

They laid our passions to rest
but they never knew that the fire still burned in us.
They took away the light
but our stars  denied to fade.

Our soul has exploded from within
realising every bit of our worth,
And hope has surfaced again
for the creator can never decease.

We don’t want their pity
nor the heart-wrenching shame.
We can fight our own battles
and script our own tales.
Remember it’s a roller coaster ride,
that which drops down always rises again.

We shall continue fighting for our existence
but let us stay true to ourselves.
Calm as the clouds, and fierce as the rains
They can treat us as low lives
But our love and vigor will always reign.

Don’t be afraid my lovelies
Because if we have to fall we will fall anyway
Just don’t let them bring us down
Let us be strong and we shall find our way.

Let’s embrace the truth
for we are coming back to life
Stronger and better, girl power-full power!
